Day to Day 

Day to day, you will actively collaborate with design teams and clients to resolve technical challenges while advancing project design development and delivery. You will develop water and sewer plan profiles, and utility facility layouts using advanced 3D design software and create technically accurate, quality engineering drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates per client and industry standards. You will also prepare engineering reports and permit applications in support of agency review and permitting and prepare graphics, figures, and materials for public, client, and team meetings and workshops. 

 

Additionally, you will prepare written communications and participate in client and team meetings by continuously tracking project progress within the established scope, budget, and schedule. You will also alert the project manager and team of any issues that may affect them. Lastly, you will assist the marketing team with research and writing technical portions of proposals.

 
Qualifications 
  • BS Civil Engineering and a minimum of five years' experience in civil engineering, with emphasis on utilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office
  • Alaska PE license or ability to obtain by reciprocity within six months of hire
  • Experience writing engineering reports, water and sewer system layout and design, hydraulic modeling, and permitting
  • Good interpersonal abilities for working in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Conditions of Employment
