Job Information
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 632 West 6th Avenue Suite 605
** Starting pay does not exceed the midpoint of the displayed pay range **

Example of Duties
Under general direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, oversee, manage, plan, organize, direct and control the activities of the Employment Services Division which includes Employment, Classification, and Records. Provide employment, classification, and records support services to all Municipal departments. Oversee the proper resolution of complaints and/or grievances and appropriate corrective actions. Interpret policy intent and/or acceptable management practices to ensure fair and consistent application of policies. Perform fact finding and conduct internal investigations and prepare reports of findings. Perform full range of management activities such as budget administration, establishing goals and objectives and development of policies and procedures. Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and eleven (11) years of professional human resources experience, five (5) years of which must have been in the specialty field(s) assigned and three (3) years at the supervisory level in the specialty field(s) assigned.
ORAssociate’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline and nine (9) years of professional human resources experience, five (5) years of which must have been in the specialty field(s) assigned and three (3) years at the supervisory level in the specialty field(s) assigned.
ORBachelor’s degree in human resources or a related discipline and seven (7) years of professional human resources experience, five (5) years of which must have been in the specialty field(s) assigned and three (3) years at the supervisory level in the specialty field(s) assigned.
