Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION OF WORK: 825 L Street
Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.

Example of Duties
Foster and facilitate good customer service for the Reproductive Health Clinic, professionally triage client appointments and referrals, monitor client flow for client efficiency, utilize good management skills in maintaining records and processing data collection, assist nurse clinicians with clients and perform laboratory duties as needed. Scribe responsibilities include: provide data entry for clinicians in the electronic medical record program during client visits and assist with obtaining electronic consent forms. Provide the full range of office clerical functions including registering and scheduling clients.
The Anchorage Health Department (AHD) engages in the State of Alaska Department of Health (DOH) emergency responses and the federal Incident Command System (ICS). This includes training exercises as part of the AHD's Crisis Health Action Team (CHAT) and municipal Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In the case of a natural or manmade disaster AHD's employees may be called to engage in emergency operations responses and recovery.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and 18 months of experience in a health and/or social services work environment.
Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
American Red Cross First Aid Certification and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or equivalent at time of hire
Preferences:Certified Medical Assistant Certification
Phlebotomist Certification
