Job Information
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
These positions are represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and are subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
HOURS OF WORK: Hours vary; Monday through Sunday; between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
LOCATION(S): 1600 Lidia Selkregg Lane, 8400 Starview Drive, 9401 Raspberry, 2020 w 48th Ave. 1221 E 10th Ave
These seasonal, part-time positions (working 30 to 32 hours per week), and will end approximately six (6) months after date of hire.
To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.
Example of Duties
Under supervision provide leadership and functional supervision to recreation, volunteer and youth employment activities, organizes daily elements and performs related work as required. This is an entry level position tht is distinguished from higher classification level by its lack of managerial responsibility. The position may be required to work outdoors inclement weather and rugged terrain. Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and three (3) months experience leading, directing, supervising, coaching, or teaching children and/or adults at a recreation facility, a childcare facility, a childcare program, camps, educational institutions, therapeutic recreational programs, team, organized youth programs, or other similar programs.
