Key responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and month-end close
- Oversee end-to-end revenue cycle management (RCM) for Air, Rotor, and Ground transport billing
- Manage high-level AR functions including aging analysis, collections strategy, and payer reconciliation
- Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and management dashboards for executive leadership and the Board
- Monitor payer performance, denials, AR aging, DSO, and reimbursement trends
- Partner with dispatch and clinical teams to validate charges, flight logs, and medical necessity
- Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, rate modeling, and strategic planning
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory bodies — serving as the primary audit liaison
- Interface directly with upper management and executive leadership as a trusted financial partner
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team

You need
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Finance or related field considered
- CPA preferred
- Extensive audit experience — internal and/or external
- Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience
- Healthcare, EMS, or air ambulance revenue cycle management experience — required
- Medical collections experience strongly preferred
- High-level AR management experience required
- Executive presence with demonstrated ability to work with and influence senior leadership
- Experience with Sage, Oracle, or similar ERP/accounting platforms
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience with transport billing platforms (e.g., Image Trend, Zoll, ESO, Flight Vector) a plus
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and air ambulance billing rules preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead a team and collaborate across departments
