This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
LOCATION: City Hall - 632 W 6th Ave, 4th Floor
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Example of Duties
The Network Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of the entire municipal enterprise network. Under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager, supervises the staff and monitors employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching. Plans, forecasts, implements and identifies resource requirements for network systems. This position analyzes network traffic, determines technology standards for the municipality, integrates systems, and determines strategic directions for the municipal data networks. Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains, and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware. Sets standards and baselines of overall network performance, corrects global network integration problems, monitors network performance, and handles global network issues. Oversees a team of analysts, specialists and technicians ensuring the proper and timely maintenance of the MOA network. Also fills the role of project leader for special enterprise-wide assignments. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible professional systems analysis, and/or systems design and database administration experience, two (2) of which were as a project leader, at the level of Senior Systems Analyst, with total project direction and leadership responsibilities.
Substitution: Additional experience in information systems design or management may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
