Job Information

 

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

 

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

 

DEPARTMENT: Municipal Airport

HOURS OF WORK: 8am - 5pm

LOCATION: 800 Merrill Field Drive, Anchorage

 

Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

 

Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.

 

To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.

 

Example of Duties

Under general supervision, performs full range of general office and administrative functions. Serves as the primary point of contact for all general airport services, providing permits and related authorizations, and resolving service issues. Functions as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple program areas, including airport billing operations, the Airport Driver’s Training Program, airfield security gate access, and transient parking administration. Prepares management reports, collects airport fees, maintain aircraft inventory, and performs in-office cash management tasks. Ensures compliance with established Municipality of Anchorage, Merrill Field, and AMC 11.60 policies. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and three (3) years of customer service experience or equivalent.
 

Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
