Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

These positions are represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and are subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.

DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday 8:15 - 16:45 (30 min lunch)
LOCATION(S): 1600 Lidia Selkregg Lane

Example of Duties

Will lead a youth crew in trail building and parks improvement projects throughout Anchorage. Deliver instructions to motivate and garner cooperation from project participants and staff. Implement constructive guidance to youth crew members and assistant crew members. Work with groups and individuals to coordinate and ensure project completion/events facilitation. Care for and ensure safe use of tools and equipment among youth crew members and assistant youth crew leaders. Transport program participants to various sites using 15-passenger vans. Administer first aid and CPR. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and one (1) year experience in the program or activity under consideration. Prior experience in the use of recreational equipment is required.

All applicants must possess or obtain:

· American Red Cross First Aid Certification, and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or equivalent at time of hire.

· A valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record at time of hire.
