Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 4700 Elmore Road

Example of Duties
Administer capital projects (funded by federal funding and non-federal funding sources) including road, non-motorized facility, and drainage improvements within the Municipality. Perform administration of all phases of design and construction efforts in accordance with federal project process meeting the National Environmental Policy Act including project scoping, design contract request for proposals, contract negotiations and award, environmental assessment under NEPA, design, public involvement, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, regulatory permitting, construction and maintaining proper documentation to support funding requirements. Provide assistance to the Project Management & Engineering (PM&E) project manager to monitor services performed by Architectural/Engineering (A/E) design consultants, PM&E design engineers, and work performed by general contractors. Scheduling and cost reporting responsibilities are also encompassed under this position. Coordination of the public involvement process is required on the most projects and may include attending meeting with community councils, the public and commissions.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics, or a closely related discipline and six (6) years of professional engineering or land surveying experience.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics, or a closely related discipline and four (4) years of professional engineering or land surveying experience.
