Are you ready to take your accounting skills to the next level? As a Senior Accountant, you’ll dive into a wide range of accounting and tax assignments, working alongside experienced professionals who are eager to share their expertise.
You’ll play a key role in organizing and coordinating client tax data, ensuring individual, corporate, partnership, S-Corp, and trust returns are completed accurately and on time. This is an opportunity to develop your technical skills, contribute to a collaborative team, and take ownership of meaningful work that makes a tangible impact.
Success in this role is measured by the quality of your work, your accounting knowledge, and your ability to meet deadlines with confidence.
If you're looking for a top-notch public accounting firm where employees are genuinely valued, and "work-life balance" is more than a verbal dangling carrot, you'll find what you need right here!

Your day-to-day, broadly speaking: On a typical day, you’ll balance multiple accounting and tax responsibilities. You’ll make and record adjusting entries, prepare trial balances and financial statements, and reconcile accounts with precision and accuracy. You’ll work with depreciation schedules, property and equipment computations, and accruals, applying your accounting expertise to both routine and moderately complex scenarios.
Tax preparation will be part of your day, from federal and state returns to reviewing client-submitted information, answering questions, and performing basic tax research. You’ll assist in audit, review, or compilation procedures as needed, and help proofread financial statements, tax returns, and other documents for accuracy. Communicating with clients, preparing invoices, and supporting collections will also be part of your role, all while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to firm policies and procedures. You’ll follow guidance from supervisors, collaborate with your team, and continuously build your skills as you contribute to the success of your clients and the firm.

We’re looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Either hold a current certified public accountant’s license or be working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the CPA exam
  • Proficiency with computers, spreadsheet software programs, general office equipment, keyboarding, and 10-key
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Team player with a positive ‘can-do’ approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • A general and growing knowledge of the firm’s products and services
  • A general understanding of market trends, including opportunities and global and local business initiatives
  • Know the rules and regulations for practice in the State of Alaska, IRS Circular 230 and Code of Conduct of the AICPA’s Rules of Ethics.
  • Have a working knowledge of the various professional standards of the AICPA and the FASB as they apply to the Firm’s clients.
