As the company continues to grow, the finance team is expanding to enhance cost accuracy, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across equipment and project operations.
The job: Reporting to the CFO, the Equipment Analyst / Accountant manages equipment costing, budgeting, reporting, and rate development. This role combines analytical skill, clear communication, and technical expertise to turn complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate thrives on numbers, enjoys collaborating with operations, and drives continuous improvement.
Your day-to-day: Overseeing equipment costing, budgeting, reporting, and rate development, the Equipment Analyst / Accountant turns complex data into actionable insights. This role works closely with operations, applies strong analytical and technical skills, and drives continuous improvement across the Equipment and Finance teams.
You’ll dive into equipment data, turning numbers into insights that help guide decisions across operations and finance. From tracking costs, lifecycle benchmarks, and fleet utilization to supporting budgets, forecasts, and rate-setting, your work ensures equipment is accurately valued and efficiently managed. You’ll collaborate with teams, maintain detailed records, and provide the clarity leaders need to make informed choices, while also supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
We’re looking for:
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or cost engineering
- Experience in the construction industry strongly preferred
- Experience with Sage or other ERP systems considered an asset
- Strong passion for equipment, finance, and data-driven decision-making
- Solid understanding of equipment maintenance and operations
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented with superb organizational and time management skills
- Collaborative team player comfortable in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience with Sage or similar ERP software preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
