This is an executive position (no union affiliation) and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
HOURS OF WORK: Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
LOCATION: 632 W 6th Ave, 4th Floor - City Hall

Example of Duties
The SAP Program Manager oversees the governance, planning, execution, change management, risk management, and delivery of SAP and related projects and operations within the organization. SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) is an ERP software used to manage business processes across functions like finance, procurement, human resources, and logistics. In this role, the SAP Program Manager ensures that operation, implementation, upgrade, and support activities align with the Municipality’s business goals. Additionally, the SAP Program Manager oversees the Municipality’s SAP operations and works closely with the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) to shape its strategic direction. The SAP Program Manager coordinates all aspects of program execution and Service Level Agreement (SLA) management, while maintaining strong relationships with business units and vendors to ensure that SAP and related systems effectively supports the Municipality's needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration or similar discipline and eight (8) years of information technology experience in a field appropriate to the position.
OR
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration or similar discipline and ten (10) years of information technology experience in a field appropriate to the position.
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
