DEPARTMENT: Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
LOCATION: 3000 Arctic Boulevard

Example of Duties
The Network Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of the entire Utility network. This position analyzes network traffic, determines technology standards for the Utility, integrates systems, and determines strategic directions for the Utility data networks. Develop strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies. Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity. Responsible for designing, installing and troubleshooting network systems to meet the functional objectives of the business. Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware. This position sets standards, integrates technologies, monitors and baselines overall network performance, corrects global network integration problems, and handles global network issues.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and ten (10) years of experience in information systems technology, of which four (4) years must have been in the data networking specialty.
OR
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and eight (8) years of experience in information systems technology, of which four (4) years must have been in the data networking specialty.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and six (6) years of experience in information systems technology, of which four (4) years must have been in the data networking specialty.
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Record at time of hire.
