Job Information

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.

DEPARTMENT: Public Transportation
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 700 W 6th Avenue

 

Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) 
per P&P 40-40.

Example of Duties

Serve as first point of contact for People Mover. Responsible for providing accurate route and schedule information and responding to questions in person, via phone, mail and e-mail with patience, courtesy and professionalism. Conduct pass sales, processes cash and credit transactions according to policy and procedures. Work with a diverse population including English as a Second Language (ESL) populations, seniors and people with a variety of disabilities. Collect and dispose Lost and Found. Assist with preparation of various reports. Require knowledge of Anchorage streets and landmarks. Exceptional customer service and communications skills. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

 

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and eighteen (18) monthsof experience in office clerical work.  
 
Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
 
All applicants must possess and/or obtain:

  •  Typing test at a net speed of 35 WPM or more at time of application

In order to be considered for positions that require skill to type at a net of 35 WPM or data entry at a net of 100 KSM, applicants are required to attach verification of typing or data entry speed to the application.
