Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.


This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
 

DEPARTMENT: Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

LOCATION: 3000 Arctic Boulevard

Example of Duties

Under the general direction of the Capital Program Manager. Responsible for supervising, work planning, prioritizing, assigning, reviewing, and direction of Project Controls staff. Assists the Capital Program Manager and Project Management Supervisors in execution of the Utility Capital, Operational and Private Development Construction Programs through contract administration, workload allocation evaluation, program/project scheduling, utility database maintenance and administration of project controls. The Administrative Officer will provide project administrative support functions to Project Management staff through document coordination, milestone tracking and control, processing of project records, processing financial transactions, drafting and the review of agreements, governing board approvals and data maintenance tasks. The Administrative Officer provides assistance in maintenance and development of asset records stored in Utility asset management system, performs other duties as assigned, to include but not be limited to: data extraction and analysis, report generation, maintenance of Division websites, monitoring and reporting on internal operating policies and procedures, and coordination of section activities with work of other Sections, Divisions, and outside agencies. Perform other duties as assigned.

Participate in major emergencies or disasters as outlined in AWWU’s disaster plan matrix, which defines each employee’s potential duties and responsibilities. This may include 12-hour work shifts, which may continue for 72 hours or more starting at any time an event might occur, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED,or equivalent, and six (6) years of experience in the field related to the position. 

OR

Associate’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance, or similar discipline, and four (4) years of experience in the field related to the position. 

OR

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance, or similar discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the field related to the position.
