HOURS OF WORK: Tuesday thru Wednesday 10:15am-7:15pm and Thursday thru Saturday 9:15am-6:15pm
LOCATION: 120 Bragaw Street
Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.

Example of Duties
Assist the public with the circulation of materials. Help meet the material needs of patrons through circulation: charging, discharging, and library card registration. Provide technology assistance, quick reference assistance by using our Integrated Library System or the Online Public Access Computers. Assist patrons with the Self Checkout Machines, copiers, our website, databases, and occasionally our Automated Handling System. Provide support to understaffed Library locations and completing special projects. Assist with Library programs both inside and outside the Library. Resolve any questions patrons may have in regards to their account such as long overdue/missing materials or accepting fines and fees by using the cash register, card reader, preparing and taking bank deposits. Train and assign tasks to volunteers.
Other duties include emptying book drops, shelving, sorting, answering phones, shipping and routing materials to other locations. This position is also expected to assist with the buss pass sales, voter registration, passport applications and other revenue generating opportunities. Receive office supplies. Establish and maintain effective relations with coworkers, the public, and vendors; Treat everyone with honesty, respect, and fairness. Assist in APL's diversity and inclusiveness efforts. Ensure excellent customer service and a positive user experience while being an efficient member of the team. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school, GED, or the equivalent and one (1) year of customer service and/or library experience.
Passport Acceptance Agent Certification within six (6) months of hire
