"Make it Monday" forum - Restoring Trust: Helping Families Rebuild After Fraud
The BBB Foundation’s Restoring Trust program is a community-driven initiative that helps families recover from contractor fraud by connecting them with trustworthy, ethical businesses that want to give back. Through this program, we identify consumers who have experienced significant financial and emotional hardship due to bad business practices, then mobilize BBB Accredited Businesses and community partners to donate labor, materials, and expertise to help restore safe housing, reliable transportation, and peace of mind.
For the Anchorage business community, Restoring Trust creates a unique opportunity to lead by example. It elevates businesses that are committed to integrity, strengthens consumer confidence in the marketplace, and fosters meaningful collaboration among local companies who want to make a positive impact. By spotlighting ethical business practices and creating real, visible outcomes for families in need, the program helps rebuild trust in industries where it is often broken—ultimately contributing to a stronger, more resilient local economy.
