Work Based Learning Specialist

As a Work-Based Learning Specialist, you will play a key role in connecting students with real-world learning opportunities that align with their career interests and goals. You will collaborate with educators, employers, and community partners to develop and implement work-based learning programs, internships, and apprenticeships that provide students with hands-on experience and valuable skills for future success. Additionally, you will provide support and guidance to students throughout their work-based learning experiences, helping them to reflect on their learning and set goals for their future careers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish and maintain work-based learning (WBL) program linkages with local employers.
  • Coordinating attendance, transportation, meals and meal deliveries and approving billing.
  • Maintain linkages with federal, state, local agencies, employers, and contracted placement agencies to aid students’ placement into jobs, continuing education, or the armed forces.
  • Counsel students regarding career goals, options, requirements, services, etc.
  • Assist students with preparation of resume, preparation for work-based learning experiences, and job search activities.
  • Coordinate placement of students into WBL. Monitor student progress, counsel students regarding performance, evaluation, problem resolution, decision making, accountability, and transition issues.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates degree in related field.
  • One (1) year related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION, and BENEFITS:
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Classification: SCA
Compensation: $23.49/hour plus an additional $4.57/hour (up to maximum of 40 hours per week) used to offset the cost of elected benefits
