ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 1:00pm-10:00pm (Tuesday, 12:00pm-9:00pm), plus on-call once a month
Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Classification: Exempt
Compensation: $54,304.00

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides structured classes for students in employability skills and emotional development. Classes will include grief/loss, handling interpersonal conflict and how to deal with homesickness, among others.

Develop activities promoting interpersonal skills that can be easily incorporated into existing meetings or group sessions facilitated by non-counseling staff.

Conducts periodic focus groups and provides feedback to appropriate entities; modifies programming based on student feedback.

Provides daily communication to the Counseling Manager and other Counselors regarding any concerns for student issues revealed during evening hours.

Maintain positive and effective relationships with students. Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude, proper behavior and goal achievement.

Coordinate and assist with any social development activities promoting self-skills and professional growth with dorm and/or recreation staff.

Work with the Social Development Director to develop and execute a rotating schedule of presenting mini-sessions or activities at dormitory meetings.

Initiate and maintain welcome call and Social Intake Form (SIF) for each assigned student.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, OR,

Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

Three (3) years’ experience in sales, marketing, or counseling.

Successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.
