"Make it Monday" forum - Trident Seafoods: Anchored in Alaska
Trident Seafoods is a fishing company founded over 50 years ago by a fisherman aboard a boat in the Bering Sea. For 40 years, Trident’s founder, Chuck Bundrant, led the company with fearless vision, taking bold steps not only to grow Trident, but to elevate the entire seafood industry. In 2013, Chuck passed the torch to his son Joe, born in Kodiak, whose leadership continues to carry forward a culture of passion and innovation.
Trident has been deeply rooted in Alaska’s coastal communities for over half a century. They opened their Anchorage office three years ago to better support our operations and community engagement.
Today, their Anchorage office serves as a vital hub for our Alaska activities. Each year, they coordinate travel for over 8,000 employees across the state. The office also houses our Skilled Trades Program coordination, provides workspace for our environmental compliance and mechanical engineering teams, and serves as a venue for meetings, policy discussions, and community outreach.
Stefanie Moreland, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Anchorage resident, will share insights into how Alaska’s fisheries are economically interconnected with key industries such as freight, fuel, aviation, telecommunications, cooperative cold storage, and employment. She will also discuss how fisheries are managed at both the state and federal levels, our collaborations with universities on research initiatives, and Trident’s internal gear innovation projects, all aimed at continuously improving practices and maintaining Alaska’s reputation for having the best-managed fisheries in the world.
PLUS, a member presentation from Fur Rondy.
