"Make it Monday" Forum Luncheon -Today's Students, Tomorrow's Workforce: Building Alaska's Resource Industry Talent Pipeline

Alaska Resource Education (ARE) provides hands-on, STEM-based programs that connect K–12 students and educators with Alaska's natural resources, industries, and career opportunities through classroom lessons, educator training, and industry partnerships.

ARE helps strengthen Anchorage's future workforce by increasing student awareness of career opportunities, connecting businesses with classrooms, and building the next generation of skilled employees for Alaska's industries.

Beki Toussaint is a dynamic nonprofit leader with over 14 years of experience advancing STEM education, workforce development, and resource stewardship across Alaska. As Program Director for Alaska Resource Education, she leads statewide initiatives that connect thousands of students and teachers each year with hands-on learning about Alaska’s natural resources and career pathways. She has a strong track record in building cross-sector partnerships, securing funding, and designing innovative programs that link education, industry, and community needs. Her leadership has been recognized through multiple honors, including being named one of Alaska’s Top 40 Under 40 and a Hero of Compassion & Service. Beki spends her free time with her husband and children hunting and fishing as well as volunteering for ADFG’s hunter education and AK Afterglow’s child loss support network. She currently serves on the Alaska Workforce Investment Board, is past president for Velocity Alaska, and serves on the Alaska Association of Career & Technical Education Board. With a background in environmental science, teaching, and program development, Beki brings a deep passion for empowering Alaska’s youth to explore their future careers and shape a sustainable future.

Walk-ins are placed on a waitlist and will be accepted as space permits.

CANCELLATION NOTE: For a full refund, registration must be canceled by 5 pm the Thursday prior. No refunds will be given after this date. If you do not arrive by 12:00 pm, your seat will be forfeited. All registrations are transferable to another person upon your request.
