This is Alison Kear, CEO of Covenant House Alaska.

As you may have seen in the news, our shelter experienced a fire last Saturday night. Thanks to the quick response from our city's firefighters and our site's robust safety protocols, all of our youth and staff got out of the building safely. We are so relieved and grateful for their well-being.

However, our building sustained extensive fire and water damage. We've estimated these unanticipated repairs at $45,000, a significant cost not in our current budget.

As a valued supporter of Covenant House Alaska, I know you care deeply about the safety and well-being of our young people. Our team has been working tirelessly to continue 24/7 operations for already vulnerable youth who have had to be relocated while repairs are made.
