Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources- Employment Services Division

HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

LOCATION: City Hall, 632 W 6th Avenue

 

**Starting pay does not exceed the midpoint of the displayed pay range**

Example of Duties

Under the general direction of the Employment Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for multiple onboarding duties and data entry tasks to ensure the timely hiring of selected applicants, as well as the timely creation and posting of position vacancy announcements. Daily duties consist of, but are not limited to, preparing and posting position vacancy announcements, screening and analyzing applications and referring qualified applicants to the department's hiring team, making employment offers, request union dispatches, sending onboarding documents to candidates, data entry and filing of completed employee packets, submitting referrals for required pre-hire screenings, scheduling pre-hire testing, complete DOT packets for compliance, occasionally assist during new hire orientation presentations, and complete other onboarding process requirements as needed. This position assists in providing job placement options during layoff processes and ADA reassignments. Notifying applicants who are not successful, and participate in the review of unselected applicants and work with our Municipal Recruiter to suggest other open opportunities to 
apply for. Participate in department and division meetings, Municipal job fairs and possible other events. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

 

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and six (6) year of human resources experience.

OR

Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and four (4) years of human resources experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and two (2) year of human resources experience.
