Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interacts with members via telephone, email, and face-to-face, assisting them with default, loss mitigation and foreclosure options.
- Responsible for interacting with investors, 3rd party interest, real estate agents, attorneys, Global Credit Union internal divisions, and business partners.
- Reviews and assists sub-servicer with skip tracing and submission of SER forms ensuring the appropriate recommendations with the AHFC portfolio for compliance in the areas of default, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, assignment of rents, and hazard insurance losses.
- Analyze and initiate financial workout packages for loss mitigation submission.
- Monitor and assist sub-servicer with distressed property preservation through resolution, coordinate emergency situations, utility connect, payment of invoices, ordering knock on door and environmental inspections.
- Responsible for reviewing and assisting the sub-servicer with AHFC foreclosures, coordinating the execution of legal documents, ordering values, display ads, bid approval, submission of SER forms.
- Prepares the asset portfolio report for management review, assisting with loan review and write up of foreclosure referrals for submission to CLO for approval.
- Monthly compliance review to ensure the sub-servicer is adhering to the investor and guarantor guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not applicable
Experience/Skills: One year experience in the mortgage collection field and/or mortgage loan servicing with direct member contact and working knowledge of mortgage documents and terminology. Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral and ability to understand investor/insurer requirements. Requires good problem solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure with difficult borrowers and adverse situations. Proficient typing, data input and calculator skills.
Tenure: MSA Default Specialist II, category 13 requires six months tenure in the MSA Default Specialist I position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. MSA Default Specialist III, category 12 requires one year tenure in the MSA Default Specialist II category 13 position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience may be substituted for tenure.
