TDL Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a busy Anchorage office. In this role, you'll process payroll, maintain accurate employee records, ensure payroll compliance, and provide exceptional customer service while handling confidential payroll information.
This position offers flexible scheduling, with start times available between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Employees may choose to take a lunch break or work through lunch and leave earlier in the day.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to accuracy. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Process payroll by compiling employee hours, wages, deductions, withholdings, and payroll data.
- Enter, maintain, and verify payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review payroll calculations, identify discrepancies, and make necessary corrections.
- Maintain employee payroll files, including benefits, tax exemptions, deductions, and other payroll updates.
- Prepare payroll reports, tax documentation, and payroll-related records.
- Process and distribute paychecks and related payroll documentation.
- Respond to employee payroll questions while providing professional, high-quality customer service.
- Assist with payroll system updates, process improvements, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in payroll, accounting, human resources, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, payroll deductions, and payroll compliance.
- Excellent data entry, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive employee information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
