Full Charge Bookkeeper

Alaska Power Association is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our Finance and Administration team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting core accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset systems
  • Perform bank, investment, and account reconciliations
  • Prepare semi-monthly payroll and related reporting
  • Generate financial reports and assist with budget development
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial records
  • Support the CFO with financial analysis and reporting projects

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree with accounting coursework preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience, preferably in the financial industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Acumatica or similar accounting software preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
