"Make it Monday" forum - Domestic Violence Safe Shelter, Intervention and Prevention
AWAIC's mission is to provide domestic violence safe shelter, intervention, and prevention. We provide safety and support to all survivors of domestic violence. All of our services are inclusive and available to both adults and children affected by domestic violence, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. AWAIC offers a variety of services to meet the diverse needs of survivors. Our core services include a 24-hour, 67-bed emergency safe shelter and a 24-hr crisis and support line. We also offer other services to meet the needs of survivors including transitional housing, case management, support and education groups, legal advocacy and more. In addition, AWAIC has a Prevention and Education team who are working to end the cycle of domestic violence by educating local youth, professionals, and the community about healthy relationships and how to recognize dating violence.
