"Make it Monday" forum - Addressing Domestic Violence in Anchorage
This presentation will provide a diverse representation of the work that is happening in our community about the different intersections of domestic violence, available services, interventions, and prevention. The panel will be facilitated by Suzi Pearson, Executive Director of Abused Women’s Aid In Crisis (AWAIC). AWAIC is the only emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence in Anchorage. AWAIC provides a 67 bed shelter, 24 hour crisis and support line, transitional housing, support to obtain safe, permanent housing, and a variety of supportive services for victims fleeing and/or experiencing domestic violence. Ms. Pearson has 28 years of experience in the field of domestic violence. She is a graduate of UAA with a Masters of Public Administration.
