"Make it Monday" forum - Alaska's Health Care Industry - Economic Profile & Impact
The Alaska State Hospital & Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA) commissioned Rain Coast Data, a Juneau-based research and consulting firm, to conduct a health care workforce statistical analysis that was released in November 2021. The report includes an analysis of Alaska health care jobs, earnings, and wages; growth projections; and workforce demographics.
Join Jared Kosin, ASHNHA's President & CEO, for a presentation on the report as he covers the comprehensive industry profile of health care, its critical importance as an economic sector and employer for Alaska, and the many opportunities and challenges in front of us.
PLUS, two short presentations:
- Conquer COVID Coalition
- Jennifer Brown, CFRE, Director of Development & Communications, Standing Together Against Rape, Inc. (STAR)
Jared C. Kosin, J.D., M.B.A is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA). Kosin is an attorney with an MBA and extensive experience in health care and public policy.
Kosin is viewed as a leader in Alaska health care from his operational and management experience in two key areas of the industry: Medicaid and hospital services.
As an Executive Director in Alaska’s Medicaid program, Kosin directed the pricing of Medicaid services across Alaska, and administered the State’s certificate of need program. In 2016, Kosin left Alaska Medicaid to join the hospital administration team at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, a 109-bed acute care hospital in the fastest growing service area in Alaska. Kosin joined ASHNHA as its President and CEO in November 2019.
ASHNHA is a health care trade association that represents more than 65 hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and other health care partners distributed across Alaska’s vast expanse of over half a million square miles. For over 60 years, ASHNHA members have worked together to improve health care in Alaska.
