Northrim Bank Begins 2026 by Awarding Funding to Alaska Nonprofits
The Bank awarded funding to 31 Alaska nonprofits in Q1 of 2026 after it and its employees donate more than $1.7 million in 2025.
ANCHORAGE, AK – Northrim Bank’s commitment to Superior Customer First Service extends beyond banking to meaningful investment in the communities it serves.
During the first quarter of 2026, Northrim provided critical funding for affordable housing and community development across the state. Through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB) Member Impact Grant Program, Northrim awarded funding to 31 Alaska nonprofit organizations. FHLB matched $2.50 for every $1 contributed by Northrim, up to the program maximum of $200,000, which Northrim reached.
This followed an impressive year of giving in 2025, with Northrim’s annual United Way campaign raising more than $159,000 in donations from employees to support their local communities. This total includes the Bank’s fifty percent match for employee gifts to United Way.
“I’m proud of our employees and their dedication to supporting their local communities,” said Mike Huston, president of Northrim. “That commitment goes beyond giving—it includes volunteering time and sharing talents where they’re needed most.” In 2025, Northrim employees contributed more than 4,100 volunteer hours.
In addition to employee-led efforts in 2025, Northrim made significant direct investments in Alaska organizations. The Bank focuses corporate giving on initiatives that promote community and economic development, strengthen low-income families and support higher education. Last year, Northrim contributed more than $1.7 million to organizations statewide.
Northrim Bank will continue to invest in local communities and work alongside customers and partners to help ensure Alaskans thrive. To learn more about Northrim’s community engagement and corporate giving, visit https://www.northrim.com/
