Anchorage, AK – On July 15, more than 130 players gathered on a beautiful sunny day at the Anchorage Golf Course for the annual Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament, which raised $70,000 to support Fisher House Foundation and Make-a-Wish Alaska and Washington.

The Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament is an annual Foundation event that brings together business partners, credit union leaders and volunteers, and the community to support Foundation nonprofit partners.

“Sponsors and teams come from all across the country to participate in this event,” said Geoff Lundfelt, President of the Global Credit Union Foundation. “This year was particularly exciting, with three teams coming in first and requiring a tiebreaker to determine the winner. I can’t thank our sponsors enough for supporting these fantastic organizations and for their generous donations.  And of course, none of this would be possible without the help of Global employees volunteering as hosts for our on-course activities and throughout the day. A huge thanks to them for all their hard work.”

$35,000 was given to Fisher House Foundation in support of their mission to provide a home away from home for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers.

$35,000 was given to Make-a-Wish Alaska and Washington, whose mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. They help children explore their strengths, take on new challenges, and be themselves, regardless of background or ability.
