Aryan Azarsepandan, CESCL and Dylan Avirett Join R&M

Aryan Azarsepandan, CESCL and Dylan Avirett have joined R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. (R&M) as Engineering Associate and Staff Geologist, respectively. Aryan joins R&M’s Construction Services Department, where he will support transportation and infrastructure projects with a focus on construction administration, documentation and AASHTOWare Project Construction implementation. Dylan joins the Earth Sciences Department, where he will support geological and environmental projects through field investigations, soil and rock sampling, core logging and technical reporting.

Aryan brings six years of experience supporting transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Alaska. Prior to joining R&M, he worked for the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, where he served as the Central Region lead for AASHTOWare Project Construction implementation and training. Aryan’s experience includes construction administration, documentation management, ADA compliance inspections and statewide process improvement initiatives.

“I spent years on the owner side and wanted to experience what great project delivery looked like from the consultant perspective,” said Aryan. “R&M had the reputation and the team to make that the right move. I want to keep growing technically and professionally, and build a long career doing work I can be proud of.”

Aryan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). He has an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License, is an Alaska Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead, a Traffic Control Technician and Supervisor, and has certifications in OSHA 10-Hour Training and 24-hour HAZWOPER. Outside of work, Aryan enjoys traveling, photography, hiking and spending time with family. He is also interested in coding and artificial intelligence.

Dylan joins R&M with experience supporting geological and environmental projects across Alaska. His background includes soil and rock sampling, core logging, geospatial analysis and geological research. Dylan has supported projects for government agencies, private industry and academic research programs, including the UAA Geology Department and the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys. He also served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he developed skills in hazardous materials handling, field safety and team leadership.

“R&M has a good reputation among local geologists,” said Dylan. “I decided to apply after I graduated. While here, I hope to become a more effective geologist and establish myself in the industry.”

Dylan holds a B.S. in Geological Sciences from UAA. He is certified in 40-hour HAZWOPER, Coldwater Survival Egress Training, CPR, and Wildlife Awareness and Defense Training. Outside of work, Dylan enjoys hiking, hunting, cooking and running. He also hopes to one day travel to Antarctica and Ireland.
