$5.5 million in rental assistance funding open to applicants
Community members can now apply to receive Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA2). Mayor LaFrance’s team worked to find and award more than $5.5 million in federal Emergency Rental Assistance to help people access and maintain housing. Funds are available to help people stay in housing and to help people transition from shelter to housing. You could be eligible for funding if your household . . .
- Makes less than 80% of the area median income; AND
- Is experiencing housing insecurity; AND
- Experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19.
Funding will be awarded through six organizations. Applications are open to all members of the public – if you’re interested, submit a single application to the organization of best fit. If they can’t fund your request, they’ll pass your application to be reviewed by other partners.
Organizations accepting applications are:
- Choosing Our Roots
- NeighborWorks AK
- Henning, Inc
- United Way of Anchorage
- New Life Development
Applications will stay open until funding runs out. The funds are available until September 30, 2025. Applicants can call 2-1-1 for assistance and find more information at
