Job Information

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This position is represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 302, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.
 

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance & Operations

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Sunday, hours vary, may work nights

LOCATION: 5701 Northwood Drive

Example of Duties

Under supervision, performs manual work of an unskilled and routine nature for the Municipality of Anchorage's Maintenance and Operations Street Maintenance Department. Work involves moderate to heavy physical exertion in the clearing and removal of litter, debris, snow, and ice. Performs tasks in cleanup and minor, unskilled maintenance of structures, equipment, and grounds. Perform other required duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age. 

Must have physical capability to perform the work described.

Must possess and/or obtain:

• Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time application.
• Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
