Job Title: Seedling Nursery Room Assistant

Location: Anchorage Waldorf School

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Daily Rate: $20.00/hr

Position Overview

The Anchorage Waldorf School is seeking a warm, dependable, and caring individual to serve as a Nursery Room Assistant for our afternoon shift. This role supports our nursery classroom serving children ages 19 months through 3 years in a gentle, nurturing, and play-based Waldorf environment.

This is a Full-time position, ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and is comfortable stepping into an established classroom rhythm to support consistency and care in the afternoons.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher and classroom staff during afternoon caregiving routines
• Assist with snack time, rest transitions, toileting/diapering, and clean-up
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate play and quiet activities
• Help maintain a calm, safe, and orderly classroom environment
• Support outdoor play and supervision as needed
• Collaborate respectfully with faculty and follow established classroom practices

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Prior experience working with young children required
• Familiarity with Waldorf education preferred (orientation provided)
• Calm, flexible, and dependable demeanor

Requirements

• Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain promptly
• Mandated Reporter training certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Better Kid Care certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Background check and fingerprinting required as part of the HR process

Compensation

• $20.00/hr
