Join one of the most dynamic aviation organizations in the world and help shape the future of Alaska's airports. The Alaska International Airport System (AIAS), home to the No. 1 cargo airport in the United States and No. 3 in the world, is seeking an innovative leader to advance passenger and air cargo service development, strategic initiatives, marketing efforts and aviation partnerships. In this highly visible role, you'll oversee the AIAS Air Service Development team, guiding passenger and cargo service initiatives across both Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) and Fairbanks International Airport (FAI), while also leading airport planning efforts for Fairbanks International Airport, including its Airport Master Plan, Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants, and other strategic planning initiatives. You'll collaborate with airlines, global cargo carriers, logistics providers, tourism organizations, and government agencies to identify opportunities that strengthen Alaska's role as a premier international aviation gateway. From analyzing emerging aviation trends to developing new initiatives that enhance airport competitiveness, your work will directly influence the future of air transportation in Alaska.
This is far more than a traditional airport position -it's an opportunity to lead initiatives that have statewide and international impact. You'll supervise a talented team of professionals, coordinate complex, multi-agency programs, develop strategic marketing and outreach efforts, and help guide projects that improve operational efficiency, cargo movement, and passenger connectivity. Working alongside industry leaders including the FAA, TSA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, airlines, and international stakeholders, you'll help position AIAS for long-term success while supporting economic growth throughout Alaska. If you're passionate about aviation, enjoy solving complex challenges, and thrive on building partnerships that make a lasting difference, this is an exceptional opportunity to leave your mark on one of the world's most important aviation systems.
