Public Guardian Certified/Uncertified

Several opportunities are available for Public Guardians with or without certification.
 
Candidates must have the ability work with the elderly and disabled. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a timely manner is key to being successful in this role.
 
Certified Public Guardians will independently perform guardianship and conservatorship duties. This includes financial management for clients, providing surrogate decision making for clients and applying for and managing all benefits a client is entitled to an also supervises Public Guardian I's. 
 
Uncertified/Entry Level Public Guardians will assist in the performance of a variety of guardianship/conservatorship duties, this includes researching, drafting and following up on benefits/financial applications, ascertaining the clients’ financial needs/requests and assisting with the management of financial budgets/paying bills per Public Guardian II/III’s directives as well as other duties as needed to assist with guardianship/conservatorship.
 
This is a full-time position 40 hours a week depending on tasks, with pay starting at $26.91-30.86/HR depending on experience/certification.
 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license/insurance
  • Background will be viewed.
  • Drug free environment
