Suicide Prevention - What You Need to Know

Alaska has one of the highest rate of suicide per capita in the United States, and suicide is a leading cause of death for Alaskans age 15 and older. Join us for a suicide prevention seminar. This online event will address suicide prevention, signs a loved one may be at risk, and tips on how to intervene and report concerns.

Matthew Whiting from HCA Healthcare’s Behavioral Health Unit will discuss risk factors that make it more likely that an individual will consider, attempt or die by suicide, warning signs indicate an immediate risk, protective factors that make it less likely that individuals will consider, attempt or die by suicide.
