Special Tuesday Forum - The EPA's Critical Role in Alaska
Earlier this year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) imposed cleaner fuel restrictions on large ships traveling within 200 miles of the coasts of the U.S. and Canada.
These new restrictions have generated concern from the local cruise industry, as well as several lawmakers, who argue that they will raise costs for vacationers and Alaskans who depend on oceangoing vessels for basic goods.
Dennis McLerran, EPA’s Alaska Regional Administrator, will discuss the regulations and how they could affect local businesses moving forward.
NOTE: This special event is held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Egan Center. There will be no “Make it Monday” forum on Nov. 12.
