"Make it Monday" forum - What's New for Alaska's Travel Industry?
Sarah Leonard of the Alaska Travel Industry Association and Julie Saupe of Visit Anchorage will provide insight into the coming visitor season for Anchorage business. They will also discuss issues and trends facing tourism in Alaska and nationally.

Before joining the team at Visit Anchorage, Saupe held executive and marketing and membership positions with the Mat-Su CVB, Alaska Visitors Association and the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce. She started her career in 1981 providing walking tours for the Fairbanks Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Saupe was named a Top 40 Under 40 (many years ago), serves on several local and statewide and national boards. She has also served on the Chairman’s Circle Board for the U.S. Travel Association.

Sarah has been involved in promoting Alaska’s wildlife, cultural, and natural resources for almost twenty years in Alaska. It all started with a Master’s of Science degree in recreation management and tourism from Arizona State University. Shortly after graduation, she and her husband packed their bags for Alaska, where she jumped into tourism advocacy with the Alaska Wilderness Recreation and Tourism Association. Sarah’s career highlights include fundraising and marketing, all centered around the beauty Alaska has to offer. Because she is from Wisconsin, she is required to be an avid Green Bay Packer’s fan In her quiet moments, she escapes to a cabin in the Talkeetna mountains.
