"Make it Monday" forum - STAR's Green Dot Bystander Intervention
Green Dot identifies that engaging the community is essential to changing norms that will result in a reduction of power-based personal violence such as sexual harassment in the workplace. Green Dot moves beyond working with the usual allies of rape crisis centers and domestic violence programs. This program stresses the importance of community-wide support for violence prevention and employs strategies that involve bars, restaurants, bankers, volunteers, small businesses, and individuals and organizations across the social spectrum. The key is providing diverse opportunities to get involved so that community members have options for engagement that feel realistic and manageable in their daily lives. Utilizing the tools and skills gained through this presentation to reduce the incidents of sexual harassment in their workplace by reactive and proactive actions, language and messages. Ultimately making our community safer.
