"Make it Monday" forum - Seize the Day Not Your Phone
Jeff Wozer, a speaker, comedian and writer with 20-plus years as a nationally touring stand-up comedian will deliver an impactful, motivating and entertaining presentation that helps individuals, organizations and businesses understand how our smartphones are distracting and stealing time at the expense of family, friends, jobs, health and even personal aspirations.
This isn't about tossing our electronic devices away. Far from it. For our smart phones and iPads are amazing devices. But rather to heighten awareness to how instead of controlling them our electronic devices are now controlling us, making us less productive.
We now check our phones, on average, 150 times per day (that's almost 10 times per waking hour). We spend, on average, almost two hours per day on social media. Over the course of a lifetime that equates to five years and four months squandered looking at cat photos. Instead of doing, we're all viewing.
And what's ironic about this is that we all understand the benefits of rebooting our computers yet we never allow ourselves to reboot, constantly lost in our screens, being reactive rather than proactive.
This presentation meshes Jeff's own struggles with screen distractions with lessons learned from a life devoted to outdoor adventure to offer an impactful and entertaining presentation that encourages participants to live more intentionally by unplugging from their electronic devices and living more productive lives.
Jeff is a speaker, comedian and writer.
He, while based out of Denver, Colorado’s Comedy Works, has toured the nation for more than 20 years working the comedy club and corporate circuit. Along the way he has performed on some of comedy’s biggest stages – Red Rocks, Las Vegas Strip, Great American Comedy Festival – and with some of comedy’s biggest names – Martin Short, Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver and more.
Jeff's articles, mainly on the outdoors, have appeared in more than 40 publications, including Rocky Mountain Sports, ESPN's Active.com, and the prestigious Explorer Club’s Explorers Journal.
He, as of late, has used his stage abilities to talk about digital detox, helping individuals and organizations become aware of how our electronic devices are distracting and stealing time at the expense of family, friends, jobs, and health. Consequently, instead of doing we’re all viewing, pursuing likes rather than experiences.
