"Make it Monday" forum - Potential School Start Time Changes and Possible Implications for the Business Community
This presentation given by Dr. Deena Bishop and Mr. Shannon Bingham, President of Western Demographics, will inform the attendees of national research that has been conducted regarding school start times and their impact on student learning with possible options that ASD is exploring.
Obviously, if a change does take place this could have an effect on those families with school-age children, as well as those who work outside the home. Attendees will be given an opportunity to vote, via electronic device during the presentation, as to their preferred options.
This input along with input provided by other groups will be used to help guide ASD on a course of action.
In addition, April 29 through May 5 is National Small Business Week (NSBW). Nancy Porzio, Director of the SBA Alaska District Office, will kick off the week-long celebration and announce the 2018 Alaska Small Business Person of the Year winner.
