Embrace the Journey Summer Walk is a family-friendly community event celebrating the beauty, meaning, and movement of life. This gentle walk follows a paved, 1-mile route, making it accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and participants of all ages. Along the path, you’ll discover interactive stations designed to uplift, inspire, and spark connection, including: Bubble Lane — a whimsical moment of lightness Affirmation Card Pull — choose a message you need for your journey High-Five Lane — encouragement from our amazing volunteers Chalk Encouragement Path — colorful messages of hope and joy Ribbon Arch — walk through a celebration of community and remembrance Paint-a-Rock — create and discover a small treasure Scavenger Hunt — fun for kids and adults alike Mini Obstacle Course — playful challenges for all ages Silly Walk Zone — let loose, laugh, and embrace the joy of being in motion Jumbo Polaroid Frame — complete your walk capturing a moment to remember To help ease traffic and create a smooth experience, participants may choose a 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, or 11:00 AM start time. Whether you’re walking to celebrate life’s milestones, or simply enjoying a summer morning in Anchorage, this event is a chance to come together, breathe deeply, and embrace the journey — wherever you are on it. All proceeds support Hospice of Anchorage and our mission to offer compassionate support and resources that help people and those who care for them live well through all stages of dying and bereavement.
