ASD Backpack Jam
The Anchorage School District Office of Equity and Community Engagement (OECE) is hosting a Back-to-School Backpack Jam event.
We aim to equip 5,000 students with school supplies before the 2023-24 school year starts. This year we are looking to partner with a variety of organizations.
Who Can Attend: Anchorage School District students and families
Transportation: There is free parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. Public Transportation - People Mover Route 10.
Food: Hot Dogs, Chips, Cookies, and Drinks.

The OECE is seeking community support to help students feel confident with the supplies they need for a successful school year. Your organization can alleviate the burden and expense of purchasing school supplies that some ASD families experience. The Back-to-School Backpack Jam is also the perfect opportunity for organizations to receive exposure and join other individuals and organizations in the community to promote back-to-school readiness.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Community sponsors are the primary funding source for this event and will help ensure its success. You can provide support in the following ways:
- Donate in-kind items: backpacks, paper, pencils, erasers… (contact OECE for full list)
- Provide Back-to-School Backpack Jam event information to clients and patrons.
- Sponsor through a monetary or in-kind donation.
Bronze, $500- $1,500:
- Monetary or in-kind donations of $500 to $1500
- Sponsor’s company logo will be placed on flyers to promote the event.
Silver, $1,501 to $2,500
- Monetary or in-kind donations from $1501 to $2500
- Sponsor’s company logo will be placed on flyers to promote the event.
- Sponsor will receive a certificate of sponsorship participation.
Gold, $2,501 and up
- Monetary or in-kind donations from $2501 and up.
- Sponsor’s company logo will be placed on flyers to promote the event.
- Sponsor will receive a certificate of sponsorship participation.
- Sponsor will be recognized during the event.
