"Make it Monday" Forum Luncheon - Trade in the time of Tariffs

Since April 2nd, last year, the so-called "Liberation Day", tariffs have become the centerpiece of the current Administration's economic policy. Tariffs are a form of taxation, and they are paid by American companies and consumers, not foreign nations. During this presentation, Greg Wolf from the Alaska International Business Center will discuss tariffs, what they are and who pays them, as well as how the unprecedented "tariffs-first" economic policy and strategy is impacting America's relationships with both our allies and adversaries. The impact on Alaskan companies will be discussed and how Anchorage and other Alaskan businesses are navigating and dealing with the tariffs. Alaska's international trade performance will also be highlighted.

Dubbed "Alaska's International Man" by the media, Greg Wolf is Alaska's most experienced international trade and economic development professional.
He has nearly 40 years' experience in helping to shape the State's trade policy, develop and grow Alaska's commercial ties with countries around world, and in assisting Alaskan companies to succeed in finding new markets and new customers overseas.

He's held leadership positions at the local, state, and federal levels, in addition to the private sector. 

His work to build mutually beneficial commercial ties with a number of countries, especially in Asia-Pacific, has been recognized by several countries, most recently by Japan who awarded him the Foreign Minister's Commendation.

He currently is the President and CEO of the Alaska International Business Center.

He will share his thoughts on tariffs and provide an update on Alaska's export performance.
