The Alaska Aviation Museum's Fly By Festival is a community-focused aviation event centered around low-level flybys over Lake Hood. The event brings together pilots, families, and local organizations for a day that mixes aviation with hands-on activities and relaxed outdoor fun. In addition to the flybys, there will be live music throughout the day, a selection of local food trucks, and a beer garden for adults. Family-friendly activities include face painting, an indoor “airport” play area for kids, rocket launching, and a variety of STEM activities designed to get younger attendees engaged with aviation and science. The festival is designed to be accessible and informal—whether you’re there for the planes, the activities, or just to spend time outside, it’s an easygoing way to experience Anchorage’s aviation culture up close.
