April is Stress Awareness Month. Mr. Arvidson will give a brief overview of the neurobiology of stress in individuals, and explain how businesses and organizations have a parallel stress system. It works well in the short-term but isn't functional for long-term success. The concepts for preventing, modulating and overcoming the stress response is the same for individuals as for teams/businesses. Is your team/business operating in constant stress mode? Learn some tips for a healthier and more functional workplace.
Joshua Arvidson MSS., LCSW is the Chief Clinical Officer for Child and Family Services at Alaska Behavioral Health. Joshua led the establishment of the Alaska Child Trauma Center and has been instrumental in promoting and training on trauma-informed care in Alaska and beyond. He has served as principal investigator on numerous grants and projects, as well as serving on the editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals. He supervises a team of more than 50 clinical staff providing support to Alaska children and families with a wide range of mental health needs and provides direct care to clients at Alaska Behavioral Health’s Anchorage clinic.
