Raising Cane’s and Alaska SPCA team up for Bike to Work Day on May 19
Morning bike commuters are in for savory, sweet and slightly sloppy treats this Bike to Work Day in Anchorage, thanks to a partnership between Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Alaska SPCA.
With two locations in Anchorage and one in Wasilla, Alaska, Raising Cane’s is adding a limited-time, bike-thru express location on the Chester Creek Trail near Westchester Lagoon for Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 19. Bite-sized samples of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Texas toast and pours of lemonade will be available, as well as a photo booth with Alaska SPCA featuring a doggy kissing station from 7 - 9 a.m.
“Active lifestyles and pet welfare are two of Raising Cane’s community focus areas. Supporting Bike to Work participants and Alaska SPCA, which is one of Alaska’s most important animal welfare organizations was a natural fit for us,” said Daisy Lazaro, Alaska Area Leader for Raising Cane’s “Any day our team gets to be outside and share some of our favorite menu items is a good day for us, this is why we do what we do.”
“Raising Cane’s has been an ideal community partner that understands our mission to support animal welfare in our state,” said Alaska SPCA Executive Director Kelly Donnelly. “We hosted our first collaborative adoption day event last fall at Raising Cane’s at Tikahtnu Commons and we’re thrilled to have their support on the bike trails to promote our biggest fundraiser of the year.”
Raising Cane’s is joining Alaska SPCA on the trail on Bike to Work Day to promote the animal welfare center’s Sip n’ Tails fundraiser, to be hosted that weekend, May 21. The Sip n’ Tails fundraiser is Alaska SPCA’s biggest fundraiser event of the year, is family friendly and includes audience participation games, silly dog tricks, talent show and a showcase of adoptable pets. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. The event runs from 1 - 5 p.m. at Bernie’s Bungalow Lounge in downtown Anchorage.
