Salary: $52,000 +DOE 

 

Summary of Job Functions:

This position functions in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer and Administrative Officer based on agency-directed short and long-range goals established for fundraising and outreach, including individual, corporate, small grants, and foundations, driven by messaging that is apropos to the specific segment. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in presenting agency mission and donation opportunities to community groups. Assists in managing volunteers for specific agency events and programs. Assists with event sponsorships, grants, newsletter articles, social media, and special projects as needed
  • Participates as a team member in planning and management of agency events, specifically major donor, community recognition, and fundraising events
  • Serves on the agency's Ambassador program training team
  • Oversees internally managed development/marketing mailings, including email
  • Manages day-to-day development activities to track and monitor donations to the agency in donor management system software, including reports, donor recognition milestones, charitable receipts, and tax letters. 
  • Maintains and tracks in-kind donations to the agency, including requests for auction items for fundraising events. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to establish rapport with individuals and groups
  • Demonstrate flexibility, perseverance, and resilience
  • Communication skills: Excellent writing, public speaking, and presentation skills
  • Strong time management and event management skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in public relations and outreach for not-for-profit, including in-depth donor research 
  • Exercise judgment and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results 
  • Acts per the highest ethical standards for the fundraising and communications fields
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in business 
  • Fundraising 1 - 2 years 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move about with ease, and lift to 50lbs
  • Communication skills using the spoken word. Hearing within the normal range 
  • Seeing - within normal parameters
